We have an opportunity for technical support job (Help desk).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provide server administration as part of the Systems Administration Group to Linux Servers located at different data centers.
Duties include provisioning new servers, imaging, monitoring, trouble shooting and other daily routines ,Provide escalation support via phone and e-mail.
Job description:
• Perform network OS installation configuration and shell scripting.
• Perform MYSQL database administration and clustering.
• Attach system to a network directory service, such as NIS, LDAP and Active Directory.
• Add and manage users, groups, quotas, and File Access Control Lists.
• Administrates different Linux servers such as mail server, web server, database server,virtualizati on, etc …
• Knowledge of systems security protocol, policies, and procedures.
• Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning.
• Provides on-call consulting advice and technical support to various users regarding specific operational/ applications issues.
• Installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server .
• Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
• Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of a range of network systems, protocols, and applications.
• Knowledge and understanding of LAN administration in a secure environment.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
Competencies
• Very good English
• Linux and windows administration experience,
• Very good knowledge of shell scripting.
• Very good knowledge of MYSQL database administration and clustering.
• Red Hat Certification Engineering experience is preferred.
• Windows 2003 is a plus.
• Solid experience with multi-server environment / Clustering.
• Ability to gather requirements, design and implement appropriate solutions.
• Strong process oriented experience in Documentation & Knowledge Transfer.
• Plus 1: Linux certification
• Plus 2: MCSE
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
